In this first issue we publish an interview with
Michel Serres, one of the leading philosophers of
France today, whose works constitute one of the
most challenging of the contemporary reflections on
the relationships between the contemporary "Hard
Sciences", the Anthropological and Social Sciences
of our present, and the Classical heritage of the
Humanities, in particular, the heritage of Greece and
Rome, as well as the Arts and Literature of yesterday
and today.

Serres works prove that, in what concerns the
productive capacities of Humanity, rigor and
imagination are one, and both make up our common
capacity to communicate and construct a common
space of exchanges that define the enterprise of
knowledge as a one of reciprocity, of common
responsibility towards each other, towards each and
every "other".

Neste primeiro número, publicamos uma entrevista com Michel Serres, um dos principais filósofos da França hoje, cujos trabalhos constituem uma das reflexões mais instigantes na atualidade sobre as relações entre as chamadas "ciências duras" atuais, as ciências sociais e a antropologia do nosso tempo e a herança clássica das humanidades, da Grécia e de Roma, incluindo as artes e a literatura do passado e do presente.
